These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MarketWise Tax website, client portal, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Our services
MarketWise Tax provides a client-experience platform that coordinates tax preparation, bookkeeping, business formation, tax strategy, and general financial planning services. Tax preparation, filing, and accounting work is performed by independent licensed tax professionals and CPAs in our partner network. MarketWise Tax serves as your single point of contact for intake, communication, and document routing.
2. Not investment, legal, or individualized tax advice
Content on our website and within the Services is for general informational purposes and is not a substitute for individualized legal, investment, or tax advice. MarketWise Tax does not provide investment advice or manage securities. Always rely on the formal engagement letter and written guidance provided to you as part of a paid engagement.
3. Account responsibilities
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your login credentials confidential, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
4. Document handling
Documents you upload are encrypted in transit, forwarded to the licensed partner assigned to your engagement, and deleted from MarketWise Tax systems within 48 hours. You are responsible for retaining your own copies of any documents you provide.
5. Fees and payment
Fees for services are disclosed before you engage and are billed through our payment processor. All fees are non-refundable once work has commenced unless otherwise stated in your engagement letter.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Services, including attempting to access another user's account, uploading malicious code, reverse-engineering the platform, or using the Services to violate any law.
7. Third-party partners
Licensed tax professionals, CPAs, and other partners in our network operate as independent contractors. MarketWise Tax is not responsible for the independent professional judgment of those partners, though we stand behind the partners we choose to work with and will assist if issues arise.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, except as expressly stated in a signed engagement letter. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MarketWise Tax's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of the Services will not exceed the fees you paid to MarketWise Tax in the twelve months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by posting the updated version on this page and, where appropriate, notifying you directly.
